Naramata Summer Wedding
It's always a treat to be asked to photograph a Naramata wedding, as Naramata holds a special place in my heart as it is my families former home. This was a very long wedding day to photograph... 14 hours total from beginning to end. We traveled to several locations to get all the shots that Lauren and Connor requested. We start off at Laurens parents home in OK falls area for the girls getting ready location. The guys are already at the Sandy Beach Lodge in Naramata where the ceremony will take place later in the day and where most of the wedding guests are lodging.
Lauren wanted to have a first look somewhere on the water, so no better place than the Naramata Pier. Lauren and Connor have their private first look moment on the pier, and then we are joined up with their large wedding party. From there we venture to Red Rooster Winery as the day is very sunny and bright and I was hoping to catch some wedding party and family photos under the shade of their large trees, while overlooking their gorgeous vineyard. Then off to Poplar Grove Cheese on the Naramata Bench, as Lauren wanted a nice lake view from a higher vantage point and some shots in a vineyard, since they were getting married in wine country. Finally it was time to head back to Sandy Beach Lodge for the ceremony and reception.
A lot of running around but the wedding party and family took it all in stride despite the hot sunny day. The ceremony and reception were very elegant with some very emotional speeches from family and friends. I must admit, I sometimes tear up as well.
Lauren was the master planner behind the wedding. She hand make most of the decorations as well as her flower bouquet. I love working with talented brides! All the best to you both Lauren & Connor.
